The Escambia County Equestrian Center, a 151-acre park, serves as a multi-use event facility. The center hosts numerous horse shows, supporting both English and Western style equine events, Rodeos, dog shows, runs, festivals, and other types of events. These events draw participants and enthusiasts from around the country to the greater Pensacola area, creating a significant economic impact for our community.

Events include:

Several 5k runs, a marathon/ultramarathon
Hunter Jumper horse shows, Dressage horse shows
Barrel Racing, Rodeos, Bull Riding
Mustang shows
Dog Shows – Agility, Barn Hunt, Earth Dog, Obedience, Conformation, Breed shows
Perdido Seafood Festival
Jaripeos
Monster Truck show
Go-cart/motorcycle racing

In addition to our events schedule, the Equestrian Center is open to the public for daily use. We have walkers, joggers, and dog enthusiasts who visit the facility on a daily basis. We also allow local horse owners to ride our trails and practice in some of our arenas, during times that we are not prepping for/hosting events.

HURRICANE/EMERGENCY HOST SHELTER:

In times of severe weather in other parts of the state and along the coast, the Equestrian Center, under the jurisdiction of the Emergency Operations Center, can be opened to serve as a host shelter for equines evacuating from those areas. Check out the Equestrian Center as Host Shelter Page.

During storms and inclement weather, the Escambia County will stage sand throughout the County for citizens to fill sand bags. At the Equestrian Center, this sand will be located in the grassy field to the left, just as you enter our facility. Please bring your own sand bags.
